Work begins on
new Glen Elder bin
Workers for McPherson Concrete (right and below photos)
are in the process of digging and pouring several of the 64 pilings for the new 300,000
bushel concrete bin at Glen Elder.
The pilings are 16 inches across and approximately 55' deep. There is
approximately three feet of soil above the pilings that will excavated to the top of the
concrete pilings where the stem wall will be poured, floor installed and walls will be
erected.

One of the three Beloit Ready Mix concrete trucks that were running from
Beloit to Glen Elder hauling concrete for the pilings that were drilled and poured on
February 29th.
A bobcat makes a run frequently moving the soil from the piling holes.
